I arrived in Cedar Rapids, IA last night at 2330, only to wake up again at 0430 for a 0500 delivery. Both drops came off without a problem, now I sit here in Cedar Falls until my final drop tomorrow morning. My next load (according to the pre-plan) picks up in Le Mans, IA and delivers in Washington Courthouse, OH on Saturday evening. The only problem is I am supposed to pick up a student from the North Little Rock terminal on Friday to begin his training.
Lawrence (my next student) is from Hot Springs, AR... at this point that all I know about him. I do hope that this does not turn out to be a repeat of my previous student, where I was unable to pick him up until a week later when they finally routed me through Little Rock. I'll give Lawrence a call later on and touch bases with him on when he can expect me to meet up with him at the terminal (that is, as soon as I find out). Another student... another training cycle.
I am currently running a series aptly called The Road Scholar, which takes you on a virtual ride on my truck, and through my mind (a journey which would likely scare the evil out of Freddie Krueger). Enjoy the ride!
